Ragan Harrington
Aspiring Advertising Professional and Creative
I’m Ragan Harrington, a Nashville native and senior at WKU, set to graduate in May 2025 with a B.A. in Advertising and Communication Studies and certificates in Graphic Design, Digital Advertising, and Workplace Communication. I am passionate about the evolving landscape of advertising, and I thrive in environments that challenge me to think creatively and strategically. I'm always eager to expand my knowledge and contribute to innovative marketing and advertising initiatives.

Since joining the WKU Talisman, the student-run lifestyle and culture magazine and website in 2021, I’ve progressed from staff photographer to Website Visuals Co-editor and Marketing Manager. Now, as Co-Executive Editor, I lead a team of seven editors, oversee the entire publication process, manage budgets, and ensure deadlines are met. This is a special year for the Talisman as we are celebrating our centennial year, I am honored I get to lead the publication into this historic moment. My experience with the Talisman has sharpened my skills in creative strategy, content production, and team leadership.

During the Summer of 2024, I interned with the Opry Entertainment Group’s marketing team, where I designed advertisements for five major campaigns, crafted copy for three content pieces and 11 email campaigns, and captured social media content at high-profile events, including Opry shows and Spotify House during CMA Fest. I also produced eight social media videos using Adobe Premiere, scheduled social media posts in Sprinklr, and assisted in the creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to streamline team workflows. The prior summer, I served as a Photography Intern at WKU’s Center for Gifted Studies, capturing and editing hundreds of photos across seven different summer camps, with my work featured in promotional materials and online.

In my free time, I enjoy reading while listening to my vinyl collection and hunting for vintage cameras to add to my collection.
